Using HVLD leak detection technology, a set of electrode probes is used to scan non-conductive sealed containers. If there are pinholes, cracks, or other defects, there will be resistance differences and current changes indicating a leak in the container and the approximate location of the defect can be identified. The technology uses non-contact and non-invasive testing methods that do not require sample preparation and can be used for leak detection of liquid products, including suspensions, emulsions and protein products in a wide variety of non-conductive packaging materials, including glass, plastic, etc.
